Submersible water pumps (sometimes referred to as "submergible pumps") are water pumps that can operate while fully submerged in water. Mechanical seals keep the water from entering the pump motor and causing a short circuit. Submersible pumps are used for many applications, the main purpose being to pump water from a source, such as a water well, to a desired destination.

Grundfos Submersible Water Pumps

Well Pump Services Gainesville, Athens & North GeorgiaGrundfos’ new, 1/3- to 1.5-hp submersible pump systems provide constant pressure by varying the speed of the pump motor. When there’s a demand for more water, the pump’s control operates it at a higher speed. When the demand for water lessens, RPMs are reduced.

A key advantage to variable speed submersible pump systems is the reduced wear and tear on the electric motor. Gone is the furious, high-revolution start – stop cycle.

With SmartFlo technology variable speed pumps, that brutal cycle is replaced with a gentler, soft start, slower-to-higher RPM rhythm that ramps-up smoothly, and winds-down just as gently when the need for water is satisfied. Mechanical torque and in-rush currents are eliminated. Yet the Grundfos SQE has a high starting torque, even at low voltages. You get the best of both worlds.
